Somatic Healing Retreats
Aimee teaches her unique retreat intensives a few times a year both individually, and occasionally with one of her esteemed colleagues and ISOHH faculty members. We adventure and journey in varying locations across the UK, Europe and occasionally further afield.
Retreat: Retreat is essential for those of us wishing to seriously progress along the path. Although Aimees appraoch to teaching always retains a therapeutic tone, retreats are more oriented to those wishing to deepen in their spiritual practice and move beyond the commercial paradigm and what is available via books and YouTube material. It is hard to reconfigure, recalibrate, and deepen, within the noise, distraction and demand of day to day life - this is why retreat has been part of the spiritual path across most traditions for millennia. Retreats are trauma informed, live and responsive, meaning that regardless of the theme that Aimee may design a specific retreat around, all the teaching, practice and guidance offered is crafted in real time in accordance with the needs of the group and what arrives in the space. With a tantric spirit and iconoclastic flavour, Aimee weaves her therapeutic skillset, the teachings and practices of Classical Indo-Tibetan Tantra, trauma informed psychological somatics, deep free movement exploration, breath and meditation artfully together to facilitate a unique and potent experience that ripples out far beyond the container of the days you spend away with her.
Pilgrimage: Quite different at the outer level from the sanctuary offered by a retreat container - but equally if not more potent - is pilgrimage. Beyond the outer journey of sacred travel lies the inner labyrinth of the heart - the winding path to Self where each outward step becomes an initiation in to psyche and soul. Pilgrimage is as much about the outer terrain we cross - breathing in the fragrance of awakening at each sacred site - as it is about the inner terrain we encounter along the way.
All events are by application only - not to create an air of exclusivity, but simply so that Aimee can ensure the experience is appropriate for all those attending. These experiences are generally not recommended for those who have not yet embarked upon a personal therapeutic/healing/spiritual journey of some sort, or for those without at least a small amount of movement and meditation exposure. Both sensitivity and resilience are required.
